websters celebrate 25 years in business

websters, the tax, legal and accountancy specialists based in Cambridge, was delighted to celebrate twenty-five years in business recently with a drinks reception at Newnham College, Cambridge.

Joining the celebrations were over a hundred and forty clients, colleagues and business associates.

The last quarter century has seen websters grow from a one-man, tax advisory business, run by founder Andrew Webster, to a multi-disciplinary practice with offices in Cambridge, Kings Lynn and Sydney, Australia.  Services have expanded to include personal tax returns, accounting and audit services and legal expertise for businesses, individuals and those with international affairs.

Uniquely, websters has expanded its team to deal with clients’ tax and financial planning needs as they operate between the United Kingdom and Australia or the United States of America.

Speaking at the event was Dr Trevor Jarman, a long term client, who said: “As one of webster’s first clients, it was an absolute pleasure to attend this celebration.  Andrew and the team have helped me with financial, tax and accountancy advice throughout my career and when setting up and running my own businesses.”  Dr Jarman has been involved with businesses such as Expedeon, Alizyme plc, PNA Diagnostics A/S and Natures Remedies Ltd.

Also speaking was former MP for Cambridge, Anne Campbell, who added: “Twenty-five years in business is a huge achievement and it is a testament to Andrew and the team that so many of his clients joined them to celebrate.”

Speaking at the event, founder, Andrew Webster said that his achievement was to have attracted such a talented team to the firm and to have given them the support to flourish at what they did well.

Catriona Freebairn, director at websters, added: “Twenty-five years in business is an incredible milestone and we are rightly proud of doing so.  The business has grown and changed hugely over the years and continues to grow, with our office in Sydney, Australia and our new audit service for clients.  It was a real pleasure to celebrate this anniversary with many of our clients, business associates and colleagues.”  She added: “We are delighted to donate the flowers from the event to East Anglia Children’s Hospice (EACH) and to Millbrook House who provide support to assist with independent living for the elderly.”
