Potential Head of UK  Tax, Cambridge

We are looking for someone who enjoys advising individuals about their tax affairs. You will feel confident to advise both individuals and businesses and will want to make a significant contribution to moving this business forward. The founder is a tax specialist – but our other two senior tax advisers prefer to specialise in international personal issues leaving a clear opportunity for someone to develop. You will work as part of a team including Australian, US and UK specialists. You will have an opportunity to give advice across a wide range of individuals and types of businesses from multi-millionaire entrepreneurs to owners of long standing family companies.

We are willing to consider candidates with different levels of experience since the Chief Executive would be able to guide development for a less experienced consultant. What is much more important is the potential to develop and the confidence to feel that you can make a difference in a firm which values intellect above conformity. The role might suit someone with a large firm background who realises that their skill set is better suited to a team of 30 where their individuality is a virtue.

Although the candidate would be initially based in the Cambridge Office we would be willing to consider clients who might want to be partly based at home after an initial period of induction.

You will report to the Chief Executive – founder of the business and an ex Inspector of Taxes.

Preferred qualification: Chartered Tax Adviser. Chartered accountant, ex-HMRC, solicitor or a candidate with substantial experience also considered.

Tax Specialist, Australia

If you enjoy advising individuals about their tax affairs – and either have experience of international tax or in providing domestic tax advice and an enthusiasm to expand your knowledge base then we are keen to hear from you.

We are willing to consider candidates with different levels of experience to help us cope with the influx of new work from clients with an international aspect to their tax affairs.

Candidates with existing knowledge of both UK and Australian tax would be particularly welcome – but we are happy to support training.

Ideally you will be based in our office in Sydney, Australia but we are willing to consider some based in the Cambridge Office or someone based at home after an initial period of induction. We could also offer opportunities to UK tax specialists who are interested in emigrating to Australia in the medium term.

You will report to the Head of Sydney office Joanne Lamberth. Preferred qualification: Chartered Tax Adviser. Chartered accountant, ex-HMRC, solicitor or a candidate with substantial experience also considered.
