Wills -Our legal team can prepare Wills and Codicils with either simple, straightforward provisions or more complex trust arrangements as is deemed appropriate. In conjuction with our financial planning and our international tax teams we can also advise on all tax planning issues including setting up family trusts, deeds of variation and insurance policies to help save you and your family IHT and other taxes.

Probate - We can assist in either you personally obtaining probate in respect of a deceased estate or our in-house solicitor can handle the probate aplication on your behalf. A grant of probate is not always needed but we can advise generally on when a grant is required and how it is obtained. We can offer specialist advice where the deceased is non UK domiciled and/or has assets or property situated abroad.

There are two advantages that we can offer over a conventional firm of solicitors; firstly we have tax expertise to handle any complex issues or planning opportunities that arise. Secondly, we have a team of other specialists, accountants and financial advisors who are able to add their expertise but only where required.

An attraction of using us for probate work is that having looked after a persons tax and financial affairs during their lifetime we have much of the information to hand to be able to handle probate cost effectively after their death. In families where one spouse has always taken sole responsibility for finance they are reassured to know they can - to some extent - help to ensure a smooth financial transition after their death.
