the initial consultation
Our free initial meetings are our opportunity for us to understand what you need from an advisor. If we feel we can help then we explain the benefits of working with us rather than another firm & we explain the cost of using our services.
If you just want to get straight to the point & get the answer to a specific questions – especially on a self contained issue - it will certainly be quicker to book a proper tax consultation meeting to try to deal with your question. We recommend that you give us an outline of your issue so that the right member of our team sees you.
professional privilege
We have special procedures in place in our Cambridge office to hold a confidential discussion where there might be tax that has not been declared or another tax offence committed.
We have a solicitor in our team so if you tell us in advance that this is what you want to discuss then we will hold the meeting under the rules of professional privilege. This meeting will be charged for at a rate agreed in advance. The matters discussed are then completely confidential. Ordinary accountants cannot offer this facility without a solicitor in their team.
These meetings can also take place online.
money laundering rules
Before you contact any professional advisor you should be aware that all are required to make a disclosure to the authorities if they have a reasonable suspicion that you have been guilty of laundering the profits of crime.
Before we can give any advice we need to identity you - and so require proof of identity.
Full details see our Money Laundering page.
