accountancy - annual accounts - audit

We have made a policy decision that we will not include auditing as part of the range of services we offer ourselves. We prefer to work closely with other firms who provide that service. The reason being the way a good audit if required to work is often very different to the best way to give imaginative advice to clients. Auditing firms are checking the accuracy of what has gone before and this is there focus. We are trying to make our focus the future and planning for a better future for your business.

Most businesses with turnover below £6m will not need an audit. An audit is a review of a company's accounts undertaken by an auditor/audit firm who then report on whether, in their independent opinion, the accounts represent a true and fair view of the company's affairs. It is performed for the benefit of people reading the accounts of the company, not the management.

We have close relationships with audit firms in the local area who can undertake audits for our clients, where necessary. We are increasingly working with clients who have one firm to perform the audit and our team to deal with their tax. This includes some of the largest companies in the region, either to deal with all their tax affairs, or in some cases specific services e.g ex patriot tax for their employees.

medium sized companies

If your business grows and you begin to need an audit then we can continue to prepare the accounts with you in the normal way and then pass them for external review by another firm. You maintain the continuity of your main planning team and the auditor can concentrate on the external facing role.

international

We can deal with auditors in other countries as the requirements are typically quite similar from one country to another.

small business team

Small businesses do not normally need an audit but some of our clients need an annual report signed by an auditor. We can obtain these very cost effectively because our own accounting proceedures are designed to a high standard.
