BioTech Businesses

We have put together a special package of services for BioTech businesses. This ensures that you get the help you need right when you need it. As a result we are a preferred supplier for one nucleus.

Our first business start-up client in 1991 was a consultancy in BioTech and he has been involved in many local start-ups over the years.

We have taken care of BioTech companies from formation to trade sale with a growth in staff from one to fifty.

Tax advice is crucial e.g. R&D Tax credits. One of team was previously the specialist in this field in a top 5 firm in Cambridge.

Share Options are a key way to incentivise staff and we have helped clients set up a range of schemes - both HMRC approved e.g. EMI and unapproved.

We are an approved provider of services for 1 Network.

Current Issues

Funding remains a problem in the sector

Share options are again coming to the fore as some confidence emerges.

How can we help?

We advised dozens of BioTech businesses. We know that what works for one business may not suit another. So we tailor our approach to suit your business. We have a flexible approach so that our level of service can be modified to suit your business as it grows - whether that is slow organic growth or VC funded rapid expansion.

We have a special package of services available to suit all types of businesses. We work with other consultants from time to time to deliver a more comprehensive package - e.g. part time financial controllers.

We are a Support Supplier to one nucleus

International

BioTech is an international business. Our team can advise on employee and business tax issues across the main jurisdictions.

We have acted for a medical equipment manufacturer from Australia and ran the administration for their UK operation - including providing an address and office space. Increasingly overseas business want a small foothold in the UK and Cambridge is an ideal place.

How much could it cost me?

We have clients who can get by with annual accounts for less than £1,000 for a small consultancy business - larger businesses will pay significantly more. The key issue is that we can tailor our service level to your needs - and that this can quickly be adjusted as your business changes.

Others need our full range of services and may pay significantly more. We are still typically two thirds the cost of a larger practice.
